This new construction project successfully met several challenges:  a very narrow, long lot; strict Nantucket HDC zoning restrictions; and the client’s desire to maximize ocean views and living space - and create something “different.”  Architectural curves, atypical of island homes, allows best placement of the house on the lot and gives it character; porches minimize their effect to meet zoning approval.  A walk-out basement level allows three full floors of living space. An integrated hidden roof deck provides privacy, protection from the elements, and unobstructed water views, plus meets HDC height restrictions while fully utilizing the interior square footage below.
